My name is Cathrin Hagey (she/her) and I live in the beautiful, and often overlooked, Canadian province of Saskatchewan.
Once upon a time I took degrees in mathematics and education, and then went on to have children and school them at home. When they grew up, I began caring for and training rescue dogs. In midlife I began writing stories for children and adults and then became an editor and columnist at Luna Station Quarterly, indulging my passion for fairy tales and fantasy.
I have been longlisted for the Bath Flash Fiction Award, the Fractured Lit Flash Fiction Prize, and the CBC Nonfiction Prize (twice). I have also been shortlisted for CANSCAIP’s Writing for Children Award. I’m currently writing for children and querying agents.

The header photo was taken by me at Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan, Canada. It’s one of my favorite places to visit and also one of the quietest on Earth.
